| DATE | DESCRIPTION OF CHANGES |
| 11/25/07 | As those who are already frequent visitors to the site have known for quite a while, the Comments section of the website is the one which is the most current. Nearly every day I have something to say about something to do with the program and it is there that you find new and archived comments covering the past several years. And today I also added the New ATGBCentral Amazon UK store link above. |
| 12/16/06 | Posted the links at the top of this page which will lead you to the Atgbcentral Amazon.com store which will take you to merchandise having to so with the show as well as all of the other great merchandise that Amazon sells. On the first page of the store is the new Judi Dench Collection, which can now be pre-ordered for delivery in March, 2007 at the wonderfully low price of $69.99 with free shipping. To read about the collection read my Dec. 10th description in the Comments section of the website (which is the most updated page on this site). Below the store link above, you will find a direct link for the Judi Dench Collection. Also remembered to change some of the references on this page to find the correct file for comments. I changed it a few weeks ago. If you enter the comments section from and old link on this page you may get a file not found. You will always find the correct file if you enter the section from my home page. |
| 9/10/06 | Posted the obituary which ran in tomorrow's Guardian (UK) announcing the death of Frank Middlemass on September 8, 2006 -- Curiosities page 36
|
| 5/16/06 | I am continuing to add more information regarding ATGB in the Comments Section. Yesterday I posted two great pictures of Philip Bretherton and this morning I've posted the news that Doogal is now available on DVD. I also posted an audio link to a few critics who are talking about Judi's current play (with Peter Bowles) in London -- Hay Fever. The online discussions have been quite interesting lately and if you are new to the site feel free to introduce yourself, ask a question, answer a question or read the archives until something grabs your attention. In the meantime I still haven't had a chance to post in the Curiosities section for the same reasons I mentioned below. |
| 4/23/06 | I know it has been a long time since I updated these pages to reflect changes on the site, but the site changes almost every day and these changes are usually reflected in the comments section. For those of you who have never been there, please check it out, introduce yourself with a comment (or not -- it's fine just to read everyone else's comments, but probably more fun to participate) and take a look at the new search engine and archives to answer whatever questions you might have.
Because of the way the Curiosities on the site are organized I really have to add another page between the current pages 30 and 31 in order to post all the stories which have accumulated since the last time I added a page, but it requires I set aside a block of time which I'm not able to do right now. However, most of these stories and photos and references HAVE BEEN POSTED in the comments section and you'll be able to access them easily until I find some time. One thing, off topic for ATGB to be sure, but I wanted to alert those who have been waiting for the DVD version of Waiting for God: Season 1 that it is going to be released on June 13, 2006 and may be pre-ordered now. Stephanie Cole and Graham Crowden are wonderful as residents of Bayview Retirement Village. The plot synopsis reads: When Tom Ballard moves to Bayview Retirement Vilage, he meets Diana Trent, a feisty old woman who complains about everything and wants nothing more than just to die. Much to the dislike of Harvey Baines, the head of the home, the two form a friendship and eventually a romance, helping each other out of tight situations. Tom's son, Geofrey, and daughter-in-law, Marion (whom Tom doesn't particularly like) are constantly stopping in and Jane, a worker at the home, is Diana's worst nightmare being constantly cheerful. Together, though, Tom and Diana make it together while they are waiting for God. The link will remain above and on the comments page. I've also added it to the Other Britcoms shopping page. You might notice that the shopping page contains Google advertising, which I've kept to a minimum and tried to make as unobtrusive as possible. If you use this shopping page (or the Google search engines at atgbcentral) and you see something anything that sparks your interest be sure to click on it as it will credit my site with the click for which I will be paid. |
| 3/13/06 | Thanks to Ruth Remert's eagle-eye, I've been able to resolve an oversight on the part of Amazon.com, which could affect you if you pre-ordered Mrs. Henderson Presents prior to today. Ruth noticed that when she did a search for the DVD on Amazon she retrieved two DVDs, both of which looked the same and were priced the same. Other than the numbers, everything was the same. I called Amazon several times between then and now and they just could not resolve this until last night. The resolution was this: one was for the wide screen version and the other was for the full screen version and the copy on their site was changed to reflect that and the link on my site has been changed from the wide screen version to the full screen version. I have had many pre-orders before today, so I want to be sure and let you know what to do because you cannot change your order once it is in -- you can only cancel it. Please don't try to call them to do it because this site will lose the credit. Instead, if you need to make this correction, click on the new link, buy what you want and when you are done, cancel the original order. Incidentally, I am posting the original wide-screen link so that those who actually do want it can order it or that those of you who simply want to see the difference can look at it. |

Posted a link in the comments section to be able to see a good many photos of Judi taken at weekend Oscar events. Go to Wireimage.com by clicking this link and doing a search on "Dench." There is a nice series of photos which were taken at the Weinsteins' pre-Oscar party in which characters usually play out scenes spoofing another character's work. Apparently Judi and Felicity Huffman did a bit in which I presume they played each other's role. If that wasn't what they were doing, it should have been.
Also in the comments section are links to pre-order Mrs. Henderson Presents on DVD. It will be released on April 18, according to Amazon, but they neglected to put the appropriate link on their site so if you click on this and don't see how to order it -- I have informed them of this oversite -- click again later. The Canadian link to pre-order is already up and the release date for that is May 9. Also posted an article which appeared over the weekend in the Calendar section of the LA Times -- Curiosities, page 30 Added the link to pre-order Mrs. Henderson Presents. The error mentioned above has been corrected. |
| 2/27/06 | Posted a link in the comments section to the five part audio series which ran on BBC, Radio 4, THE PHILOSOPHER, FISH AND THE DOVE. Geoffrey Palmer, who is -- as his fans all know -- an avid fisherman, narrates. |
| 2/26/06 | Posted a picture of a new pencil drawing of Judi Dench, which was done by British artist Richard Harris. It is located in the comments section. I also added a more permanent link to the drawing in the description of a pencil drawing of Geoffrey Palmer by the same artist. That Palmer portrait was edited by me and posted a while back and in the comments section I explain why I edited Dame Judi out of the first portrait and why I suggested that a second portrait be drawn. I also posted the link to Richard's site which shows the unedited version. |
| 2/22/06 | Posted a link for a short article on the scheduled June, 2006 performance (in London) of Fond and Familiar, starring Judi and Geoffrey, along with contact and ticket information. I also included a link for an earlier article which described the October, 1999 performance of the same program starring Judi and Michael Williams. The link is located in the Comments section.
Posted an audio file which is an interview that Jenny Funnell gave to WFYI, Indianapolis during a PBS pledge week in 2002. The link is towards the top of the Comments section and there is a comment dated today which corrects and expands on her comments about the custard tarts that were sent to Judi in New York. |

Posted an excerpt from a 2/2/06 Times (UK) article which explained why Richard Eyre thinks Judi Dench should win the Best Actress Academy Award this year. It is located in the Comments section of the website. Finally found a moment to archive the guestbook.
