DAME Judi Dench visited East Surrey Hospital this week to open a new courtyard garden.

The triangular courtyard garden includes ceramic sculptures and a water feature commissioned by the hospital's arts group.

It was designed by students from the Roehampton Institute and opened by the actress on Tuesday.

The new-look courtyard garden at the east entrance of the hospital has been the special project of the East Surrey Arts Group since 1998.

The garden has been funded by public and private donations. East Surrey Arts Groups would like to thank Sutton and East Surrey Water and Reigate and Banstead Arts Council for their generous contributions.
