WHO SAID THAT?

Return
  1. "She trembled as he slowly unbuttoned her blouse, slid nnoticed to the floor as his hands moved towards...."

Gwen Flack said this to Lionel while she was suggesting ways he could spice up the mini-series he was working on.

  2. "Positively rancid, apparently."

Alistair says this to Sandy. He had just finished having a row with Judith and Sandy wanted to know if he was leaving the house. She asks him "Are you off?" and that was his answer.

  3. "Well, let's say 10:45 then."

Penny says this to Jean on her wedding day. She tells Jean not to be nervous at the sheer magnitude of what she's doing -- after all, she thought her life was nearly over and then she is rescued by Lionel at the eleventh hour. Jean resents the expression "Eleventh Hour."

  4. "Mid-sentence again?"

Mrs. Bale says this when she walks into the room when Jean and Lionel are speaking and Jean stops abruptly. It seems everyone has been worried about Mrs. Bale's behaviour and Mrs. Bale always seems to walk in during the discussion of it -- at which point the conversation stops.

  5. "This is Hemingway. This is Hecht."

Mike Barbosa says it to Lionel, Alistair and Jean in reference to the pitch he just heard about Lionel's mini-series. He's overcome with enthusiasm for the project.

  6. "Put your foot up love."

Jean says this to Lionel when he walks into her home just after she had told Penny and Stephen he was in the hospital because of a broken ankle. They are actually in the middle of a row and she is being oversolicitous so that Penny and Stephen don't suspect.

  7. "She seems a bit brusque at first, but you get to know her as the months go by."

Gordon Watt said this to Jean about Miss Wessell while they were in the psychotherapist's waiting room.

  8. "Will I be a part-time trapeze artist, will you be a missionary in the Congo?"

Lionel said this to Jean shortly after he "treated" Stephen. He was bothered by how many lies were already told and how many more there would be before she actually told Penny the truth.

  9. "Get some bubbles up your nose and I'll explain everything."

Rocky says this to Stephen after Lionel and Jean got married. He is his usual confused self and he just doesn't understand why Lionel said that his name was Archibald Heatherington Nastyface.

  10. "What do we do then -- split up and make contact in Prague?"

Lionel says this to Jean. They are in a record shop and Penny walks in. Jean wants to avoid meeting her and tells Lionel to "sidle out" and when they get to the door they should make a run for it. This is his response.
